I’m Andy Bartlett. During the day, I’m the executive director of the Office of Communications and Marketing at Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College. I’ve been in this job since August of 2018 after 11 years as the associate director in the office, and in total I have been at Bemidji State since 2001. In my past life as associate director, I founded Bemidji State’s social media (on Facebook and Twitter).
When I’m not working, I am a fan of super heroes, lasers, UFOs and high-quality explosions. “The Force Awakens” also rekindled a lifelong love for Star Wars, and I’ll be forever grateful for that. We’re not going to talk about “Rise of Skywalker,” though… Hang out on this site and you might see some art, some photography, some model-building, some quotes from my brilliantly insane children, and who knows what the heck else.
This is my blog, which has been around in various forms for quite some time — the oldest crawl of andybartlett.com on the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine is from July 2001, and I know (…or at least am pretty sure) I have owned the andybartlett.com domain since sometime in late 2000, not long before I moved to Bemidji. This blog was pretty good in 2010 and 2011 — I was posting relatively frequently and had lots to share. I relaunched it with a fresh start in October of 2020, and we’ll see where it goes from there.
Thank for being here. Thanks for reading. If you’re so inclined, say hi over on Twitter.
